Home-Sick is an immersive experience that foregrounds interspecies connection by drawing a parallel with the intelligence generated within an ensemble during live improvisation. The many gestures, pauses, signals, triggers, and synergies conjured in real time reveal a baseline framework—an agreed-upon language of sharing—while also illuminating the unexpected, uncertain, and inexplicable force field of intuitive intelligence forming among a group of artists. Much like the animal body and the plant, which maintain an interspecies agreement for care and repair, triggered by forces we do not yet fully understand. In this live encounter, where musical improvisations that listen for the entanglements of human and non-human life, sound becomes a way of knowing and generating knowledge that moves beyond the authority of any singular regime of thought—opening other channels of sensorial meaning-making.
